Break 90

A 22 aims at 18, which is the usual line for 90

If you do not have a handicap index, a typical score of 95 is treated as about a 22 (the score minus 72). Anyone from 19 through 28 is aimed at an 18. That is the planning target for breaking 90, not a promise that the next round will be an 89.

Where those strokes usually sit

The free summary compares your fairways, greens in regulation, putts, up-and-down percent, and penalty strokes with the 18-handicap benchmarks. A golfer who hits fewer fairways than that benchmark loses strokes off the tee. Extra putts show up as putting. A penalty stroke shows up as itself. A slice or a hook adds a tee penalty once. A fat or a thin adds an approach penalty and a smaller short-game penalty.

Practice the largest gap

The $12 plan is four weeks. Minutes follow the largest gaps you can practice at the facilities you have. If the putting green is the problem and you have one, most of the hour goes there. Week 4 checks the same goals with fewer reps. A weekly check-in after another round reweights the weeks you have not finished.

How the four-week plan is built

Golf Practice Planner compares your stats with planning benchmarks. It is not a handicap service, not a lesson, and not a promise you will break a score. Stop if something in the swing hurts.
